Lakhimpur Girls' College , established in 1972 , has passed over three decades of its glorious existence. As the lone institution of higher education for women for nearly over two decades , on the entire north bank of the Brahmaputra , the college has produced women who have excelled in various fields. Within a short span of time , the college has exposed its dedication to social welfare and has thus made a mark in the higher education in Assam. At the entry level, we admit students of rural institutions who are third / second divisioners and at the terminal level , we produce first or second divisioners who claim several ranks at University or AHSEC Examinations. We are proud that our College has been ranked as one of the premier institutions in Assam and of the Dibrugarh University. The Dibrugarh University has recommended to the University Grants Commission to accord the status of "College with Potential for Excellence" to our College in the current plan period. I look forward to the glorious future of the college with added wings of academic and infrastructural upgradation and conferment autonomy.
