The awareness camp on ASHA under the banner of ASFAC ( Assam Small Farmers’ Agro Business Consotorium) for Lakhimpur block has been successfully conducted in the Agriculture Field Trial Station, Chuklibhoria today 2^nd July in presence of a large nos.  of participants, district higher officials from various line departments, representative of PRI, NGOs, SHGs and individual farmers. 
            Dr. L. Saikia Chief Scientist, RARS in his presidential speech spoke about the scope and aims of the ASHA project and encouraged all the people to involve with the project to improve their economic condition. Sri Dibyajit Dutta DIO, NIC , Lakhimpur in his key note address spoke about the background & objectives  of the ASHA project, the various problem faced by present farmers and steps to provide of timely weather forecasting, market price data, technical reports , buying & selling facility, important contacts, training calendars, contact resource persons, schemes , agro-tech etc. The other resourceful persons participated in the discussion were Sri. U.K. Basing  GM DICC, Sri K. Bhuyan Dist Agricultural Officer, Dr D. N. Saikia Dist Veterinary Officer,  Sr. scientist RARS, Sri. D. Das Training Associate KVK Lakhimpur, Agriculture Extension Officers, VLEWs, President/ Secy GPs, president/ Secretary SHGs, farmers etc. After thread bare discussion with the farmers on the various problems & prospects through ASHA, the meeting ended from the chair.
Altogether 30 nos of farmers got registered in silver and 2 in Gold  viz. Sri Kushal Tamuli and Sri Rajen Hazarika. After the meeting, the participants were taken to CIC Lakhimpur for exposure on the ASHA portal.
